Wallace also has been standing out in the news for a couple of weeks being the only Black driver in NASCAR’s top league game and had made a demand to ban the Confederate flag which was eventually granted by June 10th. He had also been actively participating in the Black Lives Matter protests.
NASCAR gave out a furious announcement stating that, “We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act – We have launched an immediate investigation, and will do everything we can to identify the person(s) responsible and eliminate them from the sport.”
The Racing committee announced how such events only provide strength and immunity from further events such as this and that they’re welcoming for all.
Bubba announce on social media that this whole event has left him, “incredibly saddened and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society and how persistent we must be in the fight against racism.”
Wallace further added that such acts will not stop him from what he does and believes in, instead it would help him be stronger than ever to stand for his beliefs.
Investigations have been made to find out the truth of the matter and due to the Covid pandemic only ‘Essential Personnel’ have been given permit to be a part of the event including the race teams, representatives, health and safety personnel. Even merchandisers have taken a turn to online sales for their Bubba Wallace action figures and NASCAR tees.
